Slip Trailing 101

Come join Stacy for a intensive, information packed hands on workshop, learning how to slip trail on your pottery! Slip trailing is a versatile technique of applying liquid slip to pottery to add visual and textural interest. It can elevate a plain piece of pottery to an expressive thing of beauty. We will cover all aspects of slip trailing from preparing slip for the best, most predictable results, adjusting slip, applying it, and special techniques. All materials are provided, event practice tiles, but you  may bring your own medium leather hard pottery pieces if you'd like to decorate your own! Prepared slip and slip trailing bottles will be available for purchase after the workshop if you'd like to take some home to immediately jumpstart your creative practice. The workshop will be held at S.P. Morgan Studio at historic and beautiful Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment. We'll break for lunch on our own at 1 so that you'll have time to eat at some of the Mill's great restaurants, and we will end before the Mill closes so that you can explore all the other studios, too!
